The health and social care strategy for enabling integrated information services is available for consultation until the end of October 2012.
The strategy is based on the underlying principle that the purpose of information systems is to support people providing care with the information tools that they need to deliver better outcomes, more safely and more efficiently.
Together for Health published in 2011, emphasised the need for integrated services that put citizens at the centre and improve the quality of care and outcomes. The information systems strategy supplements this and emphasises how the best possible secure communication links for clinical staff can be achieved.
Please send all comments on the Information Systems Strategy - enabling integrated care in Wales to NHS Wales Informatics Service at nwisenquiries@wales.nhs.uk before 31st October 2012.
