Audit and Assurance Services come together for the first time

Audit and Assurance Services held their inaugural team event on a very blustery December day at the Royal Welsh Showground. Staff in Audit and Assurance are situated in Health Board based teams distributed across Wales and this was the first time that colleagues have met together on an all-Wales basis.

The day opened with Director of NWSSP Neil Frow providing a contextual piece on the development of the Shared Services Partnership for NHS Wales. This was followed by Phil Sharman as the new Director of Audit and Assurance outlining the vision and direction for NHS Audit and Assurance over the coming period ahead.   Phil said ‘It was ambitious to hold a team event early on but absolutely essential in moving us towards an integrated all-Wales team within the shared services partnership’.

The main theme of the day was about working together on an all-Wales basis with an interactive session facilitated by NLIAH.  In addition staff enjoyed a technical session on the Bribery Act presented by Wales Audit Office.  The team event proved successful with respondents reporting an excellent overall evaluation in feedback.
