NWSSP Contractor and Prescribing Services are currently delivering an in-house Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 3 Award in First Line Management programme in collaboration with Coleg Gwent.
To date, learners have achieved high standards and have also been able to demonstrate improved performance as the focus is on real life situations. A number of learners have also developed confidence to implement positive changes within teams.There are currently a total of 24 learners – 12 from the Mid & West region and 12 from the South East who are undertaking this unique programme.
As well as achieving a recognised qualification corporate learning has been integrated into the programme, ensuring that first line managers are being equipped with the knowledge, skills, conduct and confidence that they need to undertake their roles with competence and to perform to high standards.
The course runs for a total of 22 weeks and the organisation is supporting staff by delivering the programme in-house, providing resources as well as supporting learners with protected learning time.
Following the programme, there is also opportunities for staff to progress to further study.
This as part of the commitment towards achieving the delivery of a world class public service in Wales through the excellence of NWSSP people, services and processes.
