OpenAthens MD interface refresh

Over the next few weeks we will be refreshing the appearance of the OpenAthens MD administration area and MyAthens interface. We anticipate these changes to be complete by mid May 2012.

The NHS Wales E-Library subscription to Clinical Evidence expired on March 31 2012. Due to low usage figures, this resource was not renewed and is no longer available from the e-library.

Clinical Evidence and Drugs and Therapeutic Bulletin (BMJ Group)

The NHS Wales E Library subscription to Clinical Evidence and the Drugs and Therapeutic Bulletin is due to end on March 31 2012. Due to low usage figures, it is proposed that these contract are not renewed to allow other ‘Point of Care’ tools to be considered.

BNF Access restored

Access to the BNF and BNF for Children resources has been restored, and can be accessed directly via an Athens username and password.

NHS e-library Access Problems

Many of our users have reported issues accessing e-library resources. The problem stems from a change introduced by the team responsible for national infrastructure. This has caused major difficulties with internet access and other services of which the NHS e-library is one.

Following the latest round of procurements from 1 December 2011, the NHS e-library will feature an updated selection of journals and databases. New titles have replaced some underused resources; it is hoped that these additions will prove to be of greater practical use to our users.
