  • Update about the 2013 Ovid MEDLINE® Database Reload

    Ovid have reported that any issues related to the 2013 Ovid MEDLINE Reload process, including the [Drug Terms (Non MeSH®)] associations in the Pharmacologic Actions section of the MeSH® tool are now fully resolved.

    After the recent 2013 MEDLINE reload, an issue was found where links between the MeSH® terms for the drug classes and the specific narrower drug terms in the pharmacologic actions tree were disconnected during the global reload.

    The e-Library Service Board are pleased to announce that the above apps can now be activated using NHS Wales Athens accounts. The apps provide downloadable content and can operate even if there is no network access.

  • New Search Functionality Coming Soon to The Cochrane Library

    On September 15, Wiley will be rolling out the first phase an improved search interface for The Cochrane Library. These new search features have been developed in consultation with members of The Cochrane Collaboration.

    The NHS Wales E-Library subscription to Clinical Evidence expired on March 31 2012. Due to low usage figures, this resource was not renewed and is no longer available from the e-library. 
     

  • Clinical Evidence and Drugs and Therapeutic Bulletin (BMJ Group)

    The NHS Wales E Library subscription to Clinical Evidence and the Drugs and Therapeutic Bulletin is due to end on March 31 2012. Due to low usage figures, it is proposed that these contract are not renewed to allow other ‘Point of Care’ tools to be considered.

    Access to the BNF and BNF for Children resources has been restored, and can be accessed directly via an Athens username and password.

    We are currently receiving reports that the BNF resource is unavailable. The resource provider has been contacted as a matter of urgency.

    Many of our users have reported issues accessing e-library resources. The problem stems from a change introduced by the team responsible for national infrastructure. This has caused major difficulties with internet access and other services of which the NHS e-library is one.
