About us
The Clinical Engineering department consists of two laboratory facilities; sited at Prince Charles and Royal Glamorgan Hospitals .
We provide the infrastructure and staff to facilitate the Procurement, Contract management, Safety Alerts Management, Maintenance, Commissioning, Education and Continuing development of medical equipment within the Health Board.
Health Board Services
· Decontamination, sterilisation, cleaning and infection prevention and control advice
· Procurement; identifying the equipment life cycle and replacement programmes
· Records of purchase and end user details
· Incident reporting documents and systems
· Receipt and action of MHRA’s Medical Device Alerts

· Receipt and distribution of manufacturers’ instructions and corrective notices

· Standardisation, rationalisation and equipment libraries
