International awards presented in Thailand and India
AN orthopaedic surgeon at Prince Charles Hospital has won a series of international awards in Thailand and India.
Dr Kodali Siva Rama Krishna Prasad, a staff grade orthopaedic surgeon, travelled to Thailand in June to collect a lifetime achievement award and international gold star award.
They were presented by the former deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, His Excellency Korn Dabbransi, in recognition of Dr Prasad’s work.
The ceremony in Bangkok was followed a week later (July 8) by another in New Delhi, where Dr Prasad was presented with a further two awards – the Rajiv Gandhi Seva Ratna puraskar and the Mother Teresa Seva Ratna gold medal – recognising his contribution to orthopaedic surgery.
This has been something of an award-winning year for Dr Prasad, who was given the Glory of India Award by the India International Friendship Society, in January, and the Indira Ghandi Seva Ratna puraskar and Shining Image of India award gold medal, in April.
Dr Prasad, who trained at Guntur Medical College, in Andhra Pradesh, India, dedicated his most recent awards to the memory of his mother Kodali Jagadamba.
He said: “It is a great honor to play a small part in promoting the image of Prince Charles Hospital worldwide. I am also very pleased to be able to contribute to the positive image of India.”
