What happens to the information that patients provide to the NHS?

 
As a patient you provide a great deal of personal information to your hospital, GP Practice or other NHS care provider to enable staff to provide you with treatment.
 
The information that you share with us is treated in the strictest confidence and in compliance with the law, including the Data Protection Act 1998.
