Fairness, Rights and Responsibilities - An Equality and Human Rights Strategic Plan for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, 2012-2016
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is undertaking four phases of consultation to develop our first Strategic Equality Plan. The plan will cover our equality objectives and priorities from April 2012 to March 2016 and will be published by April 2012.
We wish to involve and consult all those interested in our work from start to finish in four phases:
Phase One - The first phase which launched in August 2011, was a review and consultation on our Equality and Human Rights Scheme 2009-2012. This is available at: Equality, Diversity and Human Rights
We asked people to tell us about their experiences and what they think our future priorities should be.
The workshop was held in Colwyn Bay on 21st September 2011. delegates were asked to consider and let us have their views on a number of themes that have emerged from a review of key reports and recommendations in the area of equality as they relate to health and employment.

The review of reports and recommendations was undertaken in partnership with other public sector organisations in North Wales. The next phase was Phase three - which was a period of consultation, which commenced on 1st November 2011 in which we invited views and comments on both the emerging themes and on the draft objectives that we propose to adopt within our Strategic Equality Plan - see attached documents:
We will report annually on our progress towards the objectives and on the action which Clinical Programme Groups (CPG’s) are taking to meet them.
This consultation phase ended in January 2012 and we were pleased to receive a number of comments and suggestions, together with your views on what should be our priorities for action.
The current phase is Phase Four. This is a consultation on our draft Straetgic Equality Plan (SEP)
Again your views, comments and suggestions will be very welcome and weill help to inform the final version of the plan, which will be adopted by the Board in March for publication by the 2nd April 2012. This consultation will run for one month and closes at 12.00 noon on Monday 12th March 2012.
