By car:
 
If approaching Wrexham from the north on the A483 leave this road at the junction with the A541 (sign-posted to Mold) and turn left towards Wrexham. Immediately move into the right hand lane to turn right at the next roundabout. Continue past the entrance to B&Q to another roundabout where you should take the first exit. Follow Rhyd Broughton Lane uphill to a further roundabout and turn left into Croesnewydd Road which runs through the Hospital site.  The main car parks and main entrance are through Gate 1, which is on your right hand side after 100 metres.
 
If approaching from the south on the A483 leave this road at the junction with the A525 (signposted to Ruthin) and turn right to head towards Wrexham. After approximately 1/2 mile take the left hand turn at the traffic lights.  Pass the Yale Hospital on your right and take the second exit at the roundabout  into Croesnewydd Road which runs through the Hospital site.  The main car parks and main entrance are through Gate 1, which is on your right hand side after 100 metres.
 
If approaching on the A541 from Mold go straight across the junction with the A483 towards Wrexham. Immediately move into the right hand lane to turn right at the next roundabout. Continue past the entrance to B&Q to another roundabout where you should take the first exit. Follow Rhyd Broughton Lane uphill to a further roundabout and turn left into Croesnewydd Road which runs through the Hospital site.  The main car parks and main entrance are through Gate 1, which is on your right hand side after 100 metres.
 
If approaching on the A525 from the north (from Denbigh & Ruthin) continue straight through the junction with the A483. After approximately 1/2 mile take the left hand turn at the traffic lights.  Pass the Yale Hospital on your right and take the second exit at the roundabout  into Croesnewydd Road which runs through the Hospital site.  The main car parks and main entrance are through Gate 1, which is on your right hand side after 100 metres.
 
If approaching from the east on the A534 (from Holt & Nantwich) come into the town until the roundabout by the Swimming Baths with the distinctive peaked roof. Turn left and follow signs for the A525 to Whitchurch, around the Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre until you pass Halfords, Comet and MFI on your right hand side to reach the traffic lights at the junction with St Giles Way. Turn right into this road.  Continue along St Giles Way, passing through a pedestrian crossing and another set of traffic lights before coming to the roundabout by the Island Green Shopping Centre. Pass straight over both this roundabout and the one that follows shortly afterwards, before crossing the railway at the level crossing into Croesnewydd Road which runs through the Hospital site.  The main car parks and main entrance are through Gate 1 which is on the left hand side, about 100 metres after the ambulance entrance to the Emergency Department.
 
If approaching from the south east on the A525 (Whitchurch) come into Wrexham until the road passes through a set of traffic lights and then turns to the right and drops downhill, passing the Lidl store on your left hand side.  At the traffic lights immediately after the store turn left into St Giles Way. Continue along this road, passing through a pedestrian crossing and another set of traffic lights before coming to the roundabout by the Island Green Shopping Centre. Pass straight over both this roundabout and the one that follows shortly afterwards, before crossing the railway at the level crossing into Croesnewydd Road which runs through the Hospital site.  The main car parks and main entrance are through Gate 1 which is on the left hand side, about 100 metres after the ambulance entrance to the Emergency Department.
 
Car Parking at the Hospital is free. However you must obtain and display a valid parking ticket from one of the machines in the car parks. If your visit takes more than two hours you may find that a penalty notice has been placed on your car. In this case, contact one of the car park staff and show them your appointment card or letter to prove you had an appointment, or ask them to contact the ward or department that you were visiting, and the penalty will be withdrawn. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but the time limit helps to ensure that there are spaces available for genuine patients.
 
 
By Bus:
 
The following Wrexham bus services stop on Croesnewydd Road, outside Wrexham Maelor Hospital, however please check before travelling as these bus routes may change or the service may cease.

Wrexham Maelor Hospital is less than a mile from both Wrexham General Station and Wrexham Central Stations.

Flowers
 
Flowers are not accepted on all wards.  Please check with the individual wards before sending/bringing in flowers.
 
 
 
Alcohol foam has been made available which can be used to clean and disinfect hands.  It is available at the entrance to every ward and visitors are encouraged to use it before and after visiting.
To help the hospital to reduce infections:
  • Visitors should always use the alcohol gel by the entrance to every ward before and after visiting
  • Visitors should always use chairs and not sit on beds
  • Always wash your hands after visiting the toilet
