Please note: Only applications for work experience in Nursing or Medical can be accepted at present, all other work experience applications can not be accepted until further notice. Thank you.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board believes that Work Experience placements play an important role in helping to attract those who will lead and deliver health provision of the future.
Student placements provide an opportunity to discover more about the people we care for, the organisation, its departments and various professions.
Placements are limited and will be determined by suitability of the applicant (application form and interview if necessary), the policy regarding work experience and the availability at the time of application. Consideration will be given to applicants from Year 10 students upwards, dependent on the area of work requested. We are currently reviewing our policy and are not taking applications from students or applicants under the age of 16.
To be considered for a work placement, you must firstly be certain of which department(s) within the NHS you wish to be considered for. Applications which do not state a preferred department will not be accepted.
Nursing
If you would like to gain Nursing work experience in BCUHB you will need to complete (in full) all 3 forms which can be accessed / downloaded using the links below.
All applicants must be over 18 years of age. Unfortunately we are unable to offer work experience in Paediatrics, Maternity, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and the Emergency Department.
The deadline for the submission of applications is the 13th June 2013. Any applications received after this date will not be processed (neither will incomplete applications and or applications missing a reference).
Applicants will be invited for a short interview to assess their suitability (week commencing 29th July 2013) – please note that the applications will be reviewed by the education team and only those deemed suitable will be called for interview.
Work experience will be offered to applicants who the panel feel are most suitable following the interview process.
Work experience will commence (1 week only) between the 24th August 2013 until the 15th September 2013.
