Guide to our Information

Here are the seven broad classes or categories of information that we routinely publish.

Class One: Who we are and what we do

Here you will find details of our Health Board, our accountability, organisation structure and ‘Who’s Who’ in the organisation (also see Class 7).

Class Two: What we spend and how we spend it

You should find the various categories are self-explanatory.  They contain details about the Health Board’s financial affairs, including accounts, audit reports, expenses of senior personnel and our tendering processes.

Class Three: What are our priorities and how are we doing

The Health Board strategies and plans for providing quality healthcare can be found in this section, along with relevant audits, reports and reviews undertaken by external organisations.

Class Four: How we make decisions

It is important to us that you know how we make decisions.  Accordingly, in this section you will find documents relating to the more recent decisions made covering a wide range of topics.

Class Five: Our policies and procedures

The Health Board was formed on 1st October 2009.  For this reason, a large number of policies need to be reviewed and/or combined over the coming months.  We will publish new policies in this section as they become available, plus those existing policies which we feel have a particular relevance to the public.  You can still ask to see any policy which the Health Board currently uses, as described in ‘Further Information’, below.

Class Six: List and registers

The Health Board does not produce many registers but important documents (such as Registers of Interests) will be available here.

Class Seven: The services we offer

This section contains information that supplements Class One.

Further Information

Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board’s commitment to publish information excludes any information which can be legitimately withheld under exemptions set out in the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Code of Practice on Openness in the NHS and exceptions withheld under the Environmental Information Act 2004.  Where individual Classes are subject to exemptions, the main reasons relate to the protection of commercial interests and personal information under the Data Protection Act 1998.  This applies to most classes within the Publication Scheme.
The Publication Scheme states how you can obtain the information outlined within each of the seven broad Classes and whether a Welsh translation is available.  The Publication Scheme is available via our Website; a Printable Publication Scheme is also available and hard copies can be obtained upon request.  The information will generally be free of charge unless otherwise indicated.  If you require information in alternative formats, for example; large print, Braille, or on CD please Contact Us.

How to Access Information not contained within the Publication Scheme

Our search facility enables you to look for additional information on our Web pages that may not be linked through our Publication Scheme; however, the words you search for may not be exactly the same as those used by the Health Board therefore your search may not disclose any further information.
If you cannot find the information you require in this Publication Scheme or on our Web site, please Contact Us.  If we hold the information, we will provide it to you as quickly as possible.  Alternatively if you wish to access your medical records or other personal information you can make a Subject Access Request.
