The League of Friends at Glan Clwyd hospital held their annual presentation evening at the hospital on Thursday 17th January.
Key staff members from the various departments that had received equipment from last year’s awards from the League gave brief presentations on how the equipment would benefit patients on their Wards and demonstrated its use; and of course, to thank members for their generosity.
Annually the clinical departments are invited to make requests to the League of Friends for additional equipment which will make a real difference to patients in their care.
Last year over £200,000 worth of equipment was bought for the hospital and ranged from expensive medical equipment such as scanners and telescopes to an electric organ for musical entertainment. Submissions for this year’s awards will be made in February.
Jill Galvani, Director of Nursing, Midwifery & Patient Services, thanked the League of Friends on behalf of the Health Board and reiterated the comments of the staff as to how much of a difference the considerable annual donations made to the Health Board. She also thanked League members on their dedication to the hospital and for their loyal service at the shop and tea bar.
