The 'Gardd Gobaith Garden' Project needs your support on 29 June. VOTE on 0871 6268 117 now.
The Big Lottery Fund has announced the names of six finalists in Wales who are competing to be crowned winners in the Jubilee People’s Millions contest and take home up to £60,000 in Lottery funding for their community project. One of these is the Gardd Gobaith Garden project, proposed by Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych working in partnership with Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
The Jubilee People’s Millions will be broadcast on ITV Wales Tonight’s evening news programme from 27 to 30 June. Each night two groups will appeal for viewers’ support with the public voting by phone to decide who wins the prize and becomes the jewel in the crown of their community. All projects will be opened during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year, 2012.
There are four £60,000 awards up for grabs in Wales – one award for each night, and a bonus award for the runner up who receives the most phone votes across the week. In total, 60 Lottery grants worth a total of £3.6million will be awarded across the UK through The Jubilee People’s Millions.
The final night of voting on Wednesday 29th June will see the Gardd Gobaith Garden project in Denbighshire locking horns with a project from Gwyn edd. Voting numbers will be available on the day the projects are due to appear on ITV with telephone voting lines opening at 9am on each day and winners announced the following day.
If the Gardd Gobaith Garden project tops the polls it will improve the health and wellbeing of patients on the children’s wards at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan by transforming a redundant piece of land next to the Rupert Children's Ward into an outdoor garden and play area. This will provide an opportunity to deliver therapy through play, incorporating a quiet reflective area, a sensory garden and a canopy area to give bed-bound patients the experience and enjoyment of the outdoors.
Please support this project. Calls cost only 10p. A very small price to pay to help a truly worthwhile project which will benefit the children of Denbighshire. Remember that YOU will decide. Your vote may be the one that counts!
