Professor Merfyn Jones, Chairman of the Health Board said: “We are delighted at Mrs Griffiths’ appointment and we look forward to working with her and engaging constructively on the continued development of healthcare services in North Wales. She brings to the role an intimate understanding of the challenges facing the NHS today and the need to change the way services are delivered to patients so that we can continue to improve.”

"I also welcome the appointment of two North Wales Assembly members as Welsh Government Ministers. Lesley Griffiths, along with Carl Sergeant, Minister for Local Government and Communities will give the region a strong voice at the cabinet table.”
