Appointments (All patients can access consultations using the following guidelines)
Morning surgery 8.30-12.30
We operate an open access morning Surgery every day from Monday to Friday. All patients should register with the Triage Nurse at reception between 8.30 am and 9.30 am (children under 16 should be accompanied by a responsible adult).
All those who register will be seen by the Nurse who will either offer a GP appointment later that morning or deal with the problem immediately if appropriate.
If you are too ill or not physically able to come to the surgery you can telephone reception preferably before 11.00 a.m. to be placed on the Telephone Triage list, a triage nurse will then ring you back to discuss your problem and to make any necessary arrangements. All home visit requests will be placed on the telephone triage list.
Emergency only triage will continue throughout the day by the Duty Nurse or the Doctor
Evening routine appointments 4.00-6.00 pm
Evening slots are released every Monday morning at 8.00 a.m. for the week ahead, this has proved effective in reducing our DNA rates, we now have far less wasted appointments due to patients failing to attend the surgery due to the appointment being booked too far in advance.
Are booked through reception, and can be booked upt to 6 months in advance if necessary
Emergency slots can normally be offered within 24 hours or through Open access clinics in the morning
Registered patients aged 16-74 who have not been seen for three years may request a consultation.
Registered patients aged over 75 years who have not been seen in the previous 12 months may request a consultation. If you are unable to attend the surgery for this consultation because of your medical condition,a home visit may be arranged based on medical assessment of need
