Repeat Medication

The practice is a dispensing practice allowing us to dispense medications directly to patients who live further than a mile in a direct line from the nearest chemist.  We regret that NHS regulations do not normally permit us to dispense to patients who live nearer to a chemist.

In order to obtain a repeat prescription you should bring the right hand side of your prescription ("white slip") to surgery with the required items ticked, or telephone the surgery during opening hours, ensuring that you have your white slip available for ease of reference.

The generation of a repeat prescription may seem a simple matter, but there are several stages involved in checking safety and appropriateness of every prescription.

As a result patients should allow 48 working hours between requesting a repeat medication, and collecting their medication (if dispensed by the surgery) or obtaining a prescription to take to a chemist.
