1000 Lives Improvement also delivered presentations on “Reducing harm: sepsis and AKI” and the work of the national OBS Cymru project - set up to reduce harm from postpartum haemorrhage in maternity care.
Chris Hancock (Programme Lead, Rapid Response to Acute Illness Learning Set RRAILS) speaking about the tools introduced to support early sepsis intervention across NHS Wales said: “It’s not about them being perfect, it’s about everyone having the same tools to enable them to do the job effectively”. Delegates flooded to the 1000 Lives Improvement stand to ask questions about the tools and many showed interest in adapting them in their areas.
