Welcome to the Programme for Health Service Improvement (PHSI) website

What is it all about?

The Programme for Health Service Improvement (PHSI) aims to improve and modernise health and social care services in Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan over the next decade.

These plans, which are being developed by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (formerly Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust and the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan Local Health Boards), will mean changes in the way you receive care and where.

These plans include:
  • Providing care as locally as possible
  • Ensuring the right care, at the right time, in the right place with the right professional
  • Improving and modernising facilities
  • Promoting a healthier lifestyle and encouraging people to take better care of themselves
  • Ensuring resources are used to their best effect.
