Ceredigion and Mid Wales NHS Trust

Gender Equality Scheme Consultation

The Trust provides an integrated acute and community health care service. Bronglais District General Hospital in Aberystwyth provides acute services, supported by community hospitals in Aberaeron, Cardigan and Tregaron.

The main area served by the Trust’s hospital and community services is similar to the existing Ceredigion County Council boundary, incorporating a population of approximately 70,000. Areas of South Gwynedd, North Powys and North Pembrokeshire also fall within the Trust’s catchment area, bringing the estimated total population served by the acute service to 120,000. Additionally there is a large student population in the area and tourism impacts significantly in the summer months.
