Welcome to the Assembly's Internet site for people working on developing the provision of Welsh language services in healthcare in Wales. The Welsh Language Unit is a unique section within the Health and Social Care Department and we aim to improve the provision of Welsh language services by raising the awareness, status and importance of language issues within healthcare in Wales.
The Unit facilitates and encourages the sharing of good practice by Local Health Boards, NHS Trusts and the colleges, through the central role of organising the national strategic and networking groups.
Please browse the site, you will find a vast array of information, from details of our Good Practice Awards, Annual Conference, useful information and publications to assist healthcare workers and students to work through the medium of Welsh on a day-to-day basis and much more.
We would be pleased to receive copies of your Welsh Language Schemes and Annual Reports and any other documentation you feel you would like to share. This will then be made available to other colleagues and will help develop Welsh language provision throughout Wales.
