Welcome to the Bridgend Community Health Council web site. 

We are the organisation that monitors NHS services for people living within the County Borough of Bridgend.

Our Council comprises of 16 Lay Members – 4 nominated by the Local Authority, 4 nominated by Voluntary Organisations and 8 appointed by the Welsh Assembly Government.

If you are looking for medical help, then go straight to NHS Direct Wales. Their telephone number is 0845 46 47. It is a 24 hour nurse-led confidential helpline providing advice and information on what to do if you or any member of your family is feeling ill. Calls are charged at the local rate, and there is a confidential translation service available.

If you are looking for an up to date list of G.P. Practices, Pharmacies, Dentists or Opticians within the Bridgend locality, then go straight to the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board.  You can also find information about local Hospitals and Community Clinics on this site.

If, however, you are looking for information about the NHS and its organisations, or free help or advice about a problem you have encountered with the NHS then please look further on this site.
