Who We Are

Neath Port Talbot LHB was established on the 1st April 2003 and its prime function is to implement strategies that will improve the health and wellbeing of the local population.

The Local Health Board is made up of a number of Directorates,which include healthcare managers and professionals, along with administrative support.  The Directorates work together to look at and develop the healthcare needs of the population of Neath Port Talbot with each individual team member being responsible for taking forward key areas of work in relation to the Health, Social Care and Well-being Strategy.

Working Together

The Local Health Board and the Local Authority has a statutory duty to work together with partner organisations such as NHS Trusts, Community Health Councils, Voluntary Bodies, doctors and nurses to ensure the population's needs are being met. It also works closely with its population, consulting on significant changes and listening to local views.
