Welcome to our website. We hope you enjoy your visit.
Swansea Local Health Board is an organisation which was established as a statutory body in April 2003. The key role of the Local Health Board is to implement strategies which will improve the health of the population. The Board is constituted to ensure there is a balanced representation from all of the key stakeholders.
Swansea Local Health Board serves over 228,000 people living in the city. They are looked after by 35 general medical practices, 48 dental practices, 61 pharmacy practices and 24 optometry practices, all of which are based locally in the community. They work with hospitals and other community-based healthcare staff to provide you with health care. The Local Health Board is responsible for co-ordinating these services to provide an efficient and effective NHS.
Where possible we aim to improve NHS services that are provided to you, the patient. Working together with you, our goal is to improve the health of the people of Swansea and make a positive difference to local health services. If you have any questions about the site visit our
