Public health in Wales (1800 - 2000) was commissioned by the CMO Wales to mark the Faculty of Public Health Conference held in Cardiff on June 3-5, 2008. The history of public health in Wales has been linked with changing economic and social conditions.


Research

The main aim of the Public Health Improvement Research Network (PHIRN) is to increase the quantity and quality of public health improvement research by bringing together public health researchers, policy makers and practitioners in Wales.
The Centre for the Development and Evaluation of Complex Interventions for Public Health Improvement (DECIPHer) is one of five new UKCRC Public Health Research Centres of Excellence.
