NHS Wales Code of Conduct and Code of Practice
Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and Code of Practice for NHS Wales Employers
Following extensive consultation, the Welsh Assembly Government has issued two documents; Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and the Code of Practice for NHS Wales Employers.
The Code of Conduct describes the standards of conduct, behaviour and attitude required of all Healthcare Support Workers employed within NHS Wales. The Code applies to all Healthcare Support Workers employed in clinical and non-clinical environments within the NHS and will be referenced in job descriptions.
The Code of Practice for NHS Wales’ employers is an important assurance mechanism, supporting the employment of Healthcare Support Workers in Wales.
Both Codes support the basic principles of service user safety and public protection and should underpin the day to day working practices of NHS Wales.
