News: Health advice following flooding

20 November 2009, National Public Health Service for Wales (NPHS)

The National Public Health Service for Wales (NPHS) has issued guidance on what measures should be taken to reduce health risks in the event of a flood.

In the event of flooding, there may be risks of ill health due to water borne infection.

There are also potential risks from chemical contamination and the psychological trauma caused by flooding which should not be underestimated.
