Dental Care Professionals (DCPs)

DCPs are required to be registered with the General Dental Council and include:

Dental public health is the science and the art of preventing oral disease, promoting oral health, and improving the quality of life through the organised efforts of society.

 


 

Endodontics

Endodontics is concerned with the aetiology, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries affecting the dental pulp, tooth root, and periapical tissue which is mainly the result of dental caries (tooth decay) or trauma.

 


 

Oral Medicine

The specialty of dentistry concerned with the oral health care of patients with chronic, recurrent and medically related disorders of the oral and maxillofacial region, and with their diagnosis and non-surgical management.
