The General Dental Council is the organisation which regulates dental professionals in the United Kingdom. All dentists, dental nurses, dental technicians, clinical dental technicians, dental hygienists, dental therapists and orthodontic therapists must be registered with us to work in the UK.

The British Dental Association is the professional association and trade union for dentists in the United Kingdom.

The Royal College of Surgeons Faculty of Dental Surgery gives its fellows and members a voice at national level and provides them with informed specialist help and advice. We have developed expertise in postgraduate education, in examinations and in the quality assurance of dental specialty training in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The College's Faculty of General Dental Practice is for general dental practitioners (GDPs) and dental care professionals (DCPs) in the UK.

The British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry is concerned with dental public health and related subjects.
