10th Welsh Stroke Conference
The Welsh Stroke Conference for health professionals is taking place on Friday 17th June 2011 at the Riverfront Centre, Newport, Gwent.This year's event is planned to be a special one to mark the 10th anniversary of holding the Welsh Stroke Conference.
The Programme continues to build on the world class events of previous years with speakers from North America and elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
One the highlights is the Bhowmick Lecture delivered this year by Professor Roger Boyle CBE.
The event will also include short presentations showcasing advances in local service delivery and examples of good practice in Wales.
Delegates can choose sessions which reflect their particular interests by identifying the session they wish to attend on the Registration Form available for download below:
Poster Abstracts
The Conference is keen to attract quality Poster Presentations on a number of themes:
- Science
- Service developments
- Clinical Cases
Abstracts are welcomed from all those working in the Stroke field and this provides an excellent opportunity to share best practice. All poster abstracts should be 200 – 250 words and submitted to Dr Allison Cooper at allison.cooper@swansea.ac.uk by 30 April 2011. Guidance is available below:
Bhowmick Bursary
As in previous years the Bhowmick Bursary is available to any health or social care professional working with Stroke in Wales. This bursary of up to £2500 may be used for:
- a research project
- to promote service development
- to support an educational activity
